Commercial Grease Traps
Commercial Grease traps
A grease traps, also knows as grease arrestor, is a plumbing device designed to intercept most greases and solids before they enter a wastewater disposal system.
The impact of Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) on a drainage system can be severe to commercial kitchens, food processing facilities and downstream infrastructure. FOG can enter drainage systems via sinks, dishwashers and drainage outlets and, if not disposed of/treated correctly, can accumulate. This can result in odours, compromised hygiene, reduced pipework efficiency and cause pipe blockages.
Our custom built 12,000L vacuum truck is specifically designed to accommodate small tight jobs, as well as larger volumes. We offer you a very competitive price to remove, clean and dispose of your grease trap waste without cutting corners. Our trucks will service your grease trap at a time which is convenient to your business and ensure we do not affect your customers.
WATER CORP Fogman program
The Fats, Oil, Grease Management (FOGMan) program is a partnership with the liquid waste industry to enable the systematic management of greasy waste discharges into the Water Corporation’s wastewater system.
If your grease trap is connected to mains sewage lines, you will be required to obtain a Trade Waste Permit from the Water Corp. After each pump out a report is sent off to the Water Corp, confirming the volume of waste removed and reporting any issues with the grease trap. As part of our service we will complete these reports and send them off.
As part of this program our obligations as a liquid waste provider are to:
Maintain a regular scheduled pump out of grease traps, as determined by the Water Corp.
Report pump out details within 7 days of pump outs taking place.
Provide a thorough pump out of grease traps and report any faults or non compliances.
Changes to pump out frequencies
For customers who have grease traps that are connected to a septic system, Geographe Liquid Waste can assess and alter the frequencies of pump outs. We use your knowledge of how the business is operating, coupled with our expertise in the field, to work with customers to ensure they aren’t wasting their money with unnecessary pump outs.
If your grease trap is connected to the mains sewer system, the frequency of pump outs will be determined by the size of the business, trading hours, and the type of food being prepared. If we feel that the frequency allocated to your grease trap is not enough or too much, we can provide the documents necessary to request a change to the pump outs. Once submitted, a representative from the Water Corp will come to the site to check the state of the grease trap between two dates, and make a decision accordingly.
